The Knot Dress was one of the very first sewing patterns that she designed and has since been revised and updated. It has no zipper or button closures, but has ties at the shoulders, back, and skirt, which makes it a super easy pattern to sew and a perfect project for a beginner sewer.

The designer is originally from Australia and as she says “it was very common to see little girls running around in loose-fitting pinafores (also referred to as a pinny) during the hot weather”. It’s a very quick and simple dress to make and can be shortened to wear as a top, and can also be used as a top layer over a t-shirt and leggings too. Because of the loose fitting style, you can get plenty of wear from this both in summer and winter. The pattern comes in four different sizes from 12 months to 4T.

Featured on Sew Modern Kids. There is no pattern to download and assemble for this dress, just a set of instructions on how to draft up a pattern right onto the back of the fabric itself, based on simple measurements. It’s going to be a nice style for toddlers and younger children.

The Strawberry Vanilla Halter Neck Dress is super cute with the halter-neck and the lined bodice. It looks great on and is pretty easy to make. You can make this one of two ways, either with the halter neck or with crisscrossing ties on the back.

The Good Deeds Dress was born out my dear friend Becca's frustration with what is known as a pillowcase dress. We were sewing up a few dresses for Dress a Girl Around the World and while simple and sweet the pillowcase style was just not what she was looking for. She told me what she wanted, an easy to sew and easy to wear dress that looked cute on its own but would be easy to embellish. A few days later The Good Deeds Dress was born. Sizes range from 12m to 14yrs.

It’s also very easy to put on the child and take off, and if she spills some sauce on one side she can just flip the dress over and put it on from the other side.
