Simple Tunic or Dress FREE sewing pattern (18mths to 3yrs)
|This is the Simple Tunic or Dress FREE pdf sewing pattern from the designer Made By Toya.
This Simple Tunic Dress pattern is available in two sizes, to fit approximately 18mths-2yrs and to fit 2-3yrs.
With this lovely project, there are both tunic and dress options for both sizes with buttons (or poppers) to close at the back. This pattern has been designed to be used with light to mid-weight wovens. The designer says that good choices would be cotton shirting or lawn.
The bodice is lined but it would be easy to add a lining to the skirt section as well.
If you want to add pieces for the collar then you can, but the designer hasn’t added them into the pattern. However, in her blog post, she mentions that there are some great tutorials out there for drafting your own. She promises that it is not that tricky and actually recommends a tutorial by Monica of Adirondack Inspired that shows a great method.
The pdf pattern consists of nine pages. The designer points out that you should make sure that your printer does not resize the pages before printing. Unless stated otherwise the seam allowance is 1cm.
Finally, please note the designer managed to get the key wrong so the Skirt pieces are incorrectly labeled. She can’t change this easily as the file was created on an old computer so just make sure you cut the right size skirt.
