FREE sewing pattern for a Layered Bow Tie

This is a Layered Bow Tie FREE sewing pdf pattern.

The creative designer, Made For Mermaids, has very generously given us all this pattern for FREE and has not just made the pattern in babies and in kids sizes but also in adult sizes as well. So all the males of the family can have one, from baby all the way up to Granddad.

These fabulous little bow ties are pretty quick and easy to make. You only need a very small amount of fabric to make each one, and they’ll make a great gift for all the stylish guys that you know!

The designer recommends that for newborns through to 2-year-old kids you use their Baby Size pattern. For kids from 2-3 years old to 12 years old you should use the Kids Size pattern, and for teens and men, you should use the Adult Size pattern.

To make one of these Layered Bow Ties you will need some woven fabric, like quilting cotton, chambray, flannel, etc. For babies and kids, you will need a 1/4 of a yard, and for adults, you’ll need 3/8 of a yard.

You will also need 3-4″ of Velcro or 2-3 snaps, such as Kam Snaps.

And as an option, but recommended by the designer you will need lightweight or midweight fusible interfacing. She prefers Pellon 931TD fusible midweight.

All seam allowances are 1/2″.
