This boy’s shorts sewing project is extremely versatile and easy to make.
The designer has included three pocket options or if you like you can make the shorts without a pocket. The three pocket options are as follows:
- A cargo pocket,
- A flat pocket with a flap,
- A regular flat pocket.
When you make these shorts you’ll be able to use a wide variety of fabrics. The designer says that you can use sweatshirt fabric, knits, cotton flannel, or even jersey for a comfortable, around-the-house pair of shorts, or you can use woven cotton, linen, seersucker, or denim for a more dapper look.
The comfortable elastic waistband is also easy to sew, and that really helps your boy to get them on and off. The designer has even left enough room for a cloth diaper.
The designer rates her project as suitable for a beginner-level sewer and she estimates that you can make a pair of shorts in one to two hours depending on your skill level.
