The pattern comes in lots of sizes from just one month all the way up to adult sizes, so this pattern gives you a lifetime of sizes. It has to be one of the best value for money pdf patterns out there!
The Trapper Hat originated in the 1600s, as a giant pelt beanie of sorts, and it was first worn by, yes, trappers! They are designed to be used in cold weather and even snow with the flaps over the ears helping to keep the ears warm and the button snap under the chin helping to keep the hat on and keeping your neck a little warmer.

The head circumference of this hat pattern ranges from 15.7 inches (40 cm) up to 23.7 inches (60 cm).
What you will need to make a Trapper Hat:-
- Woven fabric like Cordura, softshell, waterproof fabrics,
- Fleece,
- A snap (a Kam snap are great for using on kid’s clothing),
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
This is a pdf pattern with real color step-by-step instructions. You can print it with layers. Stitching lines are diagrammed right onto the photos so you never need to guess where to sew. You do not need a serger for this pattern.
