Mermaid Skirt FREE sewing pattern (0-14 sizes)
This is the Mermaid Skirt pdf sewing pattern which is the ultimate twirl full circle skater skirt (no side seams = wooohooo) with an off-center waist and a spandex waistband.
The skirt is best suited to non-directional fabrics. However, if you really want to use directional fabrics then the designer has included a very helpful guide to walk you through sewing with directional fabrics.
Besides including the stand-alone skirt the designer has also included a “dress skirt” which can be added to the bodice of the Spandex Skater, Sleeved Skater, Flounce, or Illusion Dress.

The Mermaid Skirt comes in sizes from 0 to 14. If you want to make the full outfit then the sizes are 2 to 14 for the Dress Skirt (to be combined with the bodice of the Sleeved Skater, Spandex Skater, Flounce, or Illusion Dress). This is the perfect skirt or dress for stretch/knit fabric.
The designer rates her pattern as suitable for a beginner sewer. It is in fact the perfect introduction to sewing with spandex!

Before you print a certain size of the pattern, to make sure that you chose the correct size, please refer to the designer’s sizing chart which shows the height and waist measurements of each size.
This is a fully illustrated sewing tutorial that has A4/Letter size tiled pattern pieces (for at-home printing) with layers option. There is also A0 size large format pattern pieces for print shop printing.
