Most kid’s dream of having a dog for a pet. If you are not a fan of these cute furry friends, you can fulfil your baby’s wish by giving him/her a dog, well, not a real one, but a stuffed dog 🙂

We have found you a pattern here for a cute puppy, which can be made from any type of material and in any color. You can cheer up your kid with a new plush toy, and not any toy, but Dexter the dog toy. With Dexter, your kid will go to sleep, with Dexter your kid will play, and feel protected. Dexter is an ideal puppy for every occasion, and your kid will never feel alone with him.

The Dexter the dog sewing pattern is labelled “skill level intermediate” but it’s a pattern that is very easy to follow. To help explain every step along the way the designer has added lots of illustrations to help you make this cute plush animal. Also, this pattern is available in three languages English, French and Dutch and soon more languages will be added.

With a full-size pattern, you can make a dog 35cm / 14 inch long. There is no scaling needed, just print, cut and sew. But the good thing is that if you want to make a smaller dog, then you just have to print the pattern out at a smaller percentage (80% 90% etc).

This pattern does not have a seam allowance included on the pattern pieces as standard, so you can add the seam allowance you are most comfortable with using, perhaps depending on whether you are sewing by hand, by machine or with a serger.
