This designer has made a cute little maxi skirt for girls and she has provided the tutorial and pattern for FREE, naming it the Daffodil Skirt. The skirt is simple, without pockets or buttons, and will not take very long to make. It has been designed with two tiers, the bottom tier has been lined with lace peeking out from under the top tier.

The skirt is simple, without pockets or buttons, and will not take very long to make. It has been designed with two tiers, the bottom tier has been lined with lace peeking out from under the top tier of fabric. We adore that look, every little girl needs a skirt with a lacy frill like this one.

Directions are included for a smooth fixed waistband at the front and an elasticated section at the back. But you can make the whole thing with a casing and elastic waist if you prefer.

What you will need to make the Daffodil Layered Skirt

  • Main fabric – this one is in a fine corduroy
  • Fabric to line the bottom tier – maybe pick a pretty eyelet fabric with a finished edge
  • Iron on interfacing (unless you would prefer to make a simple casing for elastic)
  • Wide non-roll elastic
  • Wide lace trim (optional) – if you line with a plain fabric, use the lace trim to peek out at the bottom
  • Thread
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine.
