Back To School Peasant Dress sewing pattern (6mths-14yrs)
This is a fabulous Back To School Peasant Dress sewing pattern that comes in sizes from 6-months to 14-years.
The designer, Ola Jane Patterns, of this easy-to-make back-to-school dress named her dress “Sew Groovy”. This Peasant Dress is a softly gathered A-line shaped dress with a flattering scoop neckline. It’s such a sweet and comfortable dress with an elastic casing around the neck and sleeves.
The designer says some peasant dresses look more like a paper bag with armholes cut out. However, her “Sew Groovy” Peasant Dress has more shapely lines and curves like the dresses from the groovy days of the 1960s.
To make this pattern, the designer had to make the PDF pattern a full paper pattern that tapes together. Most peasant patterns are just straight pieces of fabric with armhole templates cut out. That is a dress with no shaping. If you do not want to tape together a full pattern then the designer’s “Sew Dainty “ blouse or underdress with just measurements and armhole templates is a good choice.
To add bling to her dress the designer has made her sample dress from a whimsy border print. She turned a plain dress into a WOW dress. If you need more bling? Then add an optional bow sash or bow sash in the back and a flower in front or just the flower for several different looks. Just use your imagination and the sky is the limit.
The designer has included long and ¾ sleeve versions in the pattern, and all color-coded sizes from 6 months to 14 years are included in the same pattern.
To make one of these lovely dresses the designer says that suitable fabrics for this project are Lightweight Quilting or Decorator Cotton, Lightweight Pique, Lawn, Voile, Batiste, Seersucker, Linen.
