They are easy to make – even for beginners!
The top of the shoe is one piece and that includes the strap. Wool felt is used for the lining of the sample shoes (acrylic felt can be used in place of the wool felt). Cotton fabric is used for the outside of the sample shoes. You can also use ultra suede, satin, taffeta, etc. The felt lining is fused to the fabric and then the top and sole shapes are cut out and stitched.
The shoes have a high back and are cut low in the front.
Shoes will fit babies from newborn to approximately 16 months. There are five sizes of shoes that are included in the pattern. The lengths of finished soles are 4”, 4.25”, 4.5”, 4.75”, and 5”. Optional instructions are given to put a non-skid sole on shoes for babies that are walking.
