As far as which fabrics you should use the designer says that she absolutely loves seersucker cotton. It’s very bouncy and works well on this skirt. But you can really use any light-weight cotton, knits, linen, satin, etc. However, you should stay away from fabrics that are thick and heavy.
In her tutorial the designer gives you lots and lots of guidance on how you should size this tiered skirt. Rather than layering them the designer makes connecting tiers. Each are made of one “connecting piece” and one “ruffle piece”. And it’s all based on ratios, starting with your waist size. It’s easy to figure out and the designer helps you do that with lots of clear instructions.
