The designer says her Rowan Tee is a great place to start if you’re new to sewing. This FREE, beginner-friendly sewing pattern offers a big size range, running from 0-3 months (size 62) to 13-14 years (size 164), comfortably taking your kid’s through childhood!
The Rowan Tee is loved for its slightly oversized fit, with short or long dolman style sleeves.
The pattern comes with several style options including a patch pocket, two necklines, an optional inside neck binding, and two side seam finishes. It’s fast and easy to sew. It really is a true wardrobe builder!
The sewing techniques involved include sewing with knits, sewing straight and curved seams, hemming, and attaching a neckband.
The pattern comes in an amazing EIGHTEEN sizes, as follows:-
- 0-3 months (Size 62),
- 3-6 months (Size 68),
- 6-9 months (size 74),
- 9-12 months (size 80),
- 12-18 months (size 86),
- 18-24 months (size 92),
- 2-3 years (size 98),
- 3-4 years (size 104),
- 4-5 years (size 110),
- 5-6 years (size 116),
- 6-7 years (size 122),
- 7-8 years (size 128),

The designer recommends that you use light to medium jersey knits with at least 25% stretch (lycra or elastane). And for the neckband, you use Rib-knit fabric or jersey lycra.
Sewing machine / Serger. When using a sewing machine, use a knit stitch or small zigzag stitch in place of the serged seam. Finish the seams with a big zigzag stitch.
