Precious Kitty Baby Booties pattern (Newborn – 14 months)
These booties are super cute and soft and sweet!
The designer preciouspatterns has made the pattern so that the booties will keep their shape very well. And the booties are easy to make, even for beginners!
You have the option of making the booties with a kitty face and ears or with the plain style. The booties have been given a high back which helps them to stay on baby’s feet. The pattern actually has two cutting lines for the back – an extremely high back or a regular high back. The top of the bootie is one piece, that includes the strap and high back.
Felt or fabric is used for the outside of the booties. Felt is used for the lining (acrylic or wool felt can be used – wool felt was used for sample booties). Felt / fabric rectangles are fused together. Then the top and sole shapes are cut out and stitched. The booties can be made from a single piece of felt, eliminating the fusible web, but they won’t be as sturdy. The booties are tied with 1/4” to 1/2” ribbon.
The booties will fit babies from newborn to approximately 14 months.
These booties come in the following four sizes:-
- Newborn to 6 months – 4” length of finished sole,
- 6 to 9 months – 4.25” length of finished sole,
- 9-12 months – 4.5” length of finished sole,
- 12-14 months – 4.75” length of finished sole.
Additional instructions are given for enlarging the patterns for even more sizes.
Optional instructions are given to put a non-skid sole on booties for babies that are walking.
