Onstage Tutu Skirt FREE sewing pattern

Here’s a fabulous and fun sewing project that is FREE.

This is the Onstage Tutu Skirt. It’s a very quick and easy-to-make tutu skirt that is great for parties and special occasions, but it’s equally appropriate for everyday wear. We agree with the designer when she says it’s guaranteed to put a smile on her face, and yours, this simple and fast project goes together with a minimum of seams.

If you are looking for that great last-minute sewing project when you need the perfect gift for a girl and her doll, then this project is it and as we have said already the download is FREE.

The designer, oliver + s has introduced a creative waistband construction that eliminates extra bulk and prevents the tulle from getting itchy at the waist.

If you decide to take on this fabulous project you’ll only need a few supplies being: a little fabric, a little tulle, elastic, and thread. The instructions call for a single layer of tulle, but you could use two layers to make a fancier version of the skirt if you like.

And if your little darling is still at that age where she loves dolls then the designer has made sure that the instructions for the doll skirt are included in the regular instructions.

This skirt is designed for fabrics without a right and wrong side. Suggested fabrics include light to medium-weight solid-colored woven fabrics like quilting cotton, voile, lawn, shirting, poplin, broadcloth, linen, and silk.
