The designer says for their pattern the fabric requirements are a 2-way or 4-way medium weight knit fabric with at least 50% horizontal stretch. Stretch velvet, scuba, cotton lycras, or brushed poly are good choices. Heavier weight fabrics and those fabrics with higher spandex content will work but will give a tighter fit. Skirts require a 2-way knit fabric with at least 30% horizontal stretch. Light to medium weight fabrics (brushed poly, bamboo lycra, lighter jersey) will lay closer to your body. Heavier weight fabrics with more structure (ponte, scuba, liverpool) will flare out more from your body. It is not recommended that you use a directional print for the maxi skirt cut on the bias due to the fact that part of the skirt will end up with the print sideways.
Your downloads will include a professionally drawn pattern with trimless pages (now with diamond corner markers) and layers. The pattern pieces included are formatted for 8.5 by 11, A4 (typically outside of the US), and A0 printers. Please remember to NOT use the A4 pattern unless you are located outside of the US and own an A4 printer and A4 paper. The A0 pattern is specifically designed for large format printing.
The separate tutorial download includes hyperlinks to help you navigate to whichever options you’re interested in doing. It also includes professionally drawn images for each tutorial step as well as pictures for steps that might be a little tricky. The designer takes great pains to make the tutorial as clear as possible! They have even included links to their YouTube channel, where you can find video tutorials on certain steps.
