Girl’s Ruffle Sleeve Dress FREE sewing pattern (Size 4)
|This is the Girl’s Ruffle Sleeve Dress FREE sewing pattern in size 4 from the designer Sew Much Ado.
This dress was designed for the second of the designer’s two girls’ Christmas dresses.
The designer chose a really neutral color fabric to keep it simple while allowing the design to stand out, and she was so excited to find the perfect overlay fabric as well. The fabrics gave just the airy, flowy look that she had imagined.
She didn’t want the lace to overpower the dress, so she opted for a solid yoke with a lace overlay on the bodice. The look of the gathered overlay does look really lovely!
The designer has a real weakness for fabric-covered buttons, so she finished off the dress with one in the same fabric. However, if it works with your design it’s always fun to make a contrast button!
The designer for many years almost never made dresses with button-back closures, and always chose zippers. However, lately, they’ve been her favorite! She loves that a back keyhole can be such a sweet design element.
Please note that this free girl’s ruffle sleeve dress pattern is drafted for a 22″ chest measurement and 39-42″ height, which is a size 4 for Sew Much Ado patterns. Her daughter Lola measures a size 4 chest and 5 length, so she simply added an inch to the pattern for her to give it the length she needs!
