Girls Paper Bag Shorts FREE sewing pattern (size 5-6)
|
It’s time to start getting ready for the summer and bring out the summer clothes. Summer weather has started popping up here and there, and we need to be prepared. Most kids love to play outside when the weather warms up and maybe since last year those shorts don’t fit anymore as kids can grow pretty fast. So with that in mind this fabulous designer, Once Upon a Sewing Machine, has given us all this FREE pattern and tutorial for you to make some Girls Paper Bag Shorts (size 5-6).
These are easy pull-on shorts which you can make with or without a drawstring. The creator of the pattern advises us that if we have any worries about the shorts coming untied when we’re not around our kid, we could choose to go with a full elastic waist. Also, we can choose from a big range of fabric. We can make them in soft fabrics for PJ shorts, or all the way up to denim fabric suitable for a play day.
Materials you need for these shorts:
- The pattern,
- Woven Fabric (everything from quilting cotton to denim),
- 1-inch of elastic,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
The creator of the pattern also says that all seams are 3/8 of an inch unless otherwise noted. The seam allowance is included in the pattern and doesn’t need to be added.
