This looks like a fabulous project that your kids will love. This awesome little summer outfit is both delightful and very easy to sew. The top has been designed to be waist length only with a waistband that ties into a bow at the back.
The shorts are made with front pockets and an elastic waistband. The designer, Felicity Patterns, has also included a flared, elastic waist skirt as an option for the shorts.
This project is perfect for a beginner sewer who has good basic sewing experience.
The designer says that the best fabric to use is lightweight woven cotton e.g. poplin, lawn, seersucker, homespun, and also minimal stretch knit with a stretch of no more than 25-30%.
