DIY Kid's Apron FREE sewing pattern (3 sizes)

This is the DIY Kid’s Apron FREE sewing pattern that comes in three sizes from the designer Abby of Sew Much Ado.

Abby had many requests over the years for an updated version of her original DIY apron for kids and this is her new and improved version.

A kid’s apron is a great idea to keep your kid’s clothes clean and tidy. From cooking to arts and crafts, those drips, spills, and fingerprints will be on the apron and not on their clothes. To celebrate those messes in style, Abby has made a free kid’s apron pattern and tutorial as well as a video tutorial!

So you can now make your little one a DIY Apron that’s ready for all those fun activities! And once you learn how to make an apron, you’ll love getting to customize them in your little one’s favorite colors and fabrics.

This free kids apron pattern comes in 3 sizes as follows:-

  • 3-5 years,
  • 6-8 years,
  • 10-12 years.

Abby says that if you haven’t sewn a DIY apron before, this is a great beginner project. She’ll teach you how to make an apron and you’ll be a pro in no time flat. And if you prefer following video tutorials to photos, she’s got you covered with a detailed video tutorial as well!

Why not watch the video tutorial below:-

If you use pre-made, double-fold bias tape then this makes this a cinch to sew up, however, you can always make your own to use if you’d prefer!

The apron comes complete with customizable pockets that are perfect for holding all of your little one’s most important supplies.

What is needed to make a DIY Kid’s Apron:-
  • 3/4 yard (sizes 3-5, 6-8) / 1 yard (size 10-12) of quilting cotton or home decor weight fabric,
  • 1/4 yard of coordinating fabric for the pocket,
  • Two packages (size 3-5) / three packages (sizes 6-8,10-12) extra wide double fold bias tape.
