Children's Zip Up Jacket sewing pattern (Sizes 3mths-14) This is the Children’s Zip Up Jacket sewing pattern from the designer Sewing Geek Patterns.

This unisex hoodie PDF sewing pattern is extremely versatile and fun to make.

The pattern includes two versions, either a Pullover Hoodie or a Zip Up Jacket. This project is loose fitting which makes it a truly comfy hoodie.

Fabric recommendations.
The designer has lots of recommendations for the fabric you should use, as follows:

  1. Use Blizzard Fleece to make a warm and cozy hoodie that your little one won’t want to take off.
  2. Or you can even go one step further for even better coziness by using Cuddle Fleece.
  3. Use Microfleece to make a Zip Up Jacket that looks store-bought.
  4. Use Sweatshirt Fleece for a Classic Sweatshirt Hoodie.

This project is a simple design. You can add some real girl cuteness by adding cute little trims such as ric rac, making an appliqué for the front, or even painting your fabric!

Skill Level.
The Pullover Hoodie version is a moderate beginner sewing pattern, while the Zip-Up Jacket version is an intermediate-level pattern. If you are a beginner or are looking for a quick sew, the designer recommends that you start by sewing the Pullover Hoodie version. Then once you have mastered that version you can move on to the Zip Up Jacket version. That way you can challenge yourself and tackle a separating zipper. The sewing tutorial contains step-by-step instructions with pictures to help you install the zip so don’t be scared!
