Dress it down with the peplum length or use it for a dressy evening wearing the vintage length. You’ll enjoy the versatility of the knee-length too – it’s perfect for her to play in or wear on school days! Any way you make it, the comfort and twirl factor of the Bordeaux will be loved!
Bordeaux is a sleeved peplum and dress, has a round neckline with a neckline tie or neckline band. You can dress it up or down with the different circle skirt lengths – peplum, vintage (2-3 inches above the knee), or knee. And then there’s the different sleeve lengths – short, elbow, or long! So many options, it makes the dress a year-round staple!
And so what are the best fabrics to use for this project? The designer recommends KNIT fabrics – cotton jersey, rayon jersey, cotton interlock, bamboo interlock, french terry knit, sweater knit.
Suggested knit is a 4-way stretch, 95% cotton/5% lycra with at least 20% stretch (over 4 inches), and with a good recovery.
The designer rates her project as suitable for confident beginner to intermediate sewers.
