Baby Bloomers FREE sewing pattern (0-3 months)
|This is the Baby Bloomers FREE sewing pattern and tutorial from the designer I Can Sew This.
The designer describes her Baby Bloomers as comfy and sweet! She’ll teach you how to make DIY Baby Bloomers in five simple steps with this sewing tutorial.
She says these Bloomers are perfect for any baby boy or baby girl, for any occasion. This is an easy, quick, and rewarding sewing project that you can finish in less than 30 minutes. If you’re a beginner, these bloomers are a great place to start!
And besides being easy and quick you will only need one fat quarter to make one pair of cute Baby Bloomers.
The designer made the blue/floral bloomers with a piece of fabric that measured 19″ by 19″ and she still had some scraps, just enough to make a scrunchie.
The designer made her Baby Bloomers with identical front and back crotch curves. She says usually pants have a lower rise in the front and a higher rise in the back to fit better. However, for diaper-wearing babies, this adjustment is not crucial, so she took the easy way out, which helped to make her sewing project much quicker and easier.
What’s needed to make a pair of Baby Bloomers:-
- ¼ yard of cotton fabric – chambray, cotton poplin, double gauze, voile, linen, etc.,
- One piece measuring 15″ to 16″ of 1″ wide elastic for the waist,
- Two pieces measuring 7″ each of ½” wide elastic for the leg holes,
- Matching thread,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
