|This is the Addie Peplum Top sewing pattern from the designer Peanut Patterns.
It’s a peplum top that can be made into a shirt or dress and comes with four different sleeve options—tank top, butterfly, short, or long sleeves.
Comes in sizes Preemie to 6 years, as follows:
- Preemie,
- Newborn,
- 0-3 months,
- 3-6 months,
- 6-9 months,
- 9-12 months,
- 12-18 months,
- 18-24 months,
- 3 years,
- 4 years,
- 5 years,
- 6 years.
So what fabric should you use? The designer says to use knit fabric that is light to medium weight. It can be interlock, jersey, or double knit.
So how much fabric do you need?
Tank Top layout and usage:
- Shirt length peplum:
- Size Preemie to 12-18 months = 1/2 yard of fabric (45” or 60” wide),
- Size 18-24 months to 6 years = 3/4 yard of fabric (60” wide).
- Dress Length Peplum:
- Size Preemie to 12-18 months = 3/4 yard of fabric (45” or 60” wide),
- Size 18-24 months to 6 years = 1 1/8 yard of fabric (60” wide).
Short, Long, or Butterfly Sleeve layout and usage:
- Shirt length peplum:
- Size Preemie to 12-18 months = 1/2 yard of fabric (45” or 60” wide),
- Size 18-24 months to 6 years = 3/4 yard of fabric (60” wide).
- Dress Length Peplum:
- Size Preemie to 12-18 months = 3/4 yard of fabric (45” or 60” wide),
- Size 18-24 months to 6 years = 1 1/8 yard of fabric (60” wide).

The designer tries to minimize the headache by including lots of colors/markers when piecing together. -No Serger is required, all you need is a sewing machine that can do a zig-zag and a straight stitch.
