The Suzie Skort/Shorts sewing pattern (2-14 years)

The designer says her Suzie Skort is the perfect outfit for active girls. It has neat fitting knit shorts attached to a woven mini length over-skirt with an easy pull-on elastic waist. The over-skirt comes in two stylish versions.
You can choose the Wrap skirt for a trim sporty look with a zip pocket or the Flippy skirt for a flared shape with in-seam pockets. This neat little skort is just the thing for girls who love to play; perfect for tennis, net ball, hockey, bike riding etc.
The designer says her sewing project is suitable for experienced beginner sewers. She says that only plain sewing skills are required. You should pay careful attention to correct seam allowances and neatness is important. You should read the tutorial through before you start and follow this closely step-by-step to get a perfect finish.
So what fabrics should you use to make the Suzie? The designer says for the overskirt you shoul use light weight cottons e.g. poplin, homespun and similar fabrics. For the shorts you should use a 4 way stretch knit e.g. lycra, cotton/lycra or cotton/elastane; the fabric must have at least a 50% stretch on length and width.
This pattern comes in EIGHT sizes to fit children 2 to 14 years old as follows:-

It’s important to always check the size chart before you start; waist, hip and height measurements are the best guide for selecting the correct size for your child. Please note that children over 10 years can vary greatly in measurement depending on the stage of their development. The size chart gives body dimensions only; the pattern has ease added.
The pdf pattern can be printed on a desk top printer using 8.5″ by 11″ / A4 size paper or in the USA Letter size paper. The pattern file includes a very detailed sewing tutorial with step-by-step photos. The computer made digital pattern comes as a color coded, full size range nest with seam allowances included. Instructions for printing and assembling the pattern are included. All seam allowances and cutting instructions are marked on the pattern pieces. A Print Shop large format file is also included.
