This is the Stuffed Hen Toy pdf sewing pattern and tutorial from the designer Xanthe Patterns.
This country-style hen features a sitting posture and can sit steadily without support.
She is actually of a similar size to a real one, measuring about 8″ (20 cm) tall.
All parts are sewn by machine except the feet, which are made from wire wrapped in yarn. The instructions on how to make the feet are also supplied.
What’s needed to make a Stuffed Hen Toy:-
- Main fabric for the body – a 13″ by 24″ rectangle,
- Contrasting fabric for the tail and wings – a 12″ square,
- Brick-red color fabric for the comb and wattles – a 4″ by 7″ rectangle,
- Tan color fabric scrap for the beak – a 4″ square,
- A piece of 6″ by 12″ lightweight batting,
- Two tiny black beads or buttons for the eyes,
- Wire for the feet,
- A ball of yarn for wrapping the wire,
- A bag of cluster fiber-fill for stuffing,
- Home printer with Letter or A4 size paper,
- Sewing machine with sewing kit.
This pattern is full-sized with seam allowances. The instructions that come with it are written in English with lots and lots of high-resolution photos.
