Here’s another great FREE sewing tutorial from Ashley of Mommy By Day Crafter By Night on how to make a Not So Mini, mini skirt.
She was inspired to make this tutorial when she found the lovely corduroy fabric at Joann’s. She immediately pictured a little mini skirt!
It’s a lovely pattern and the colors are wonderful. And Ashley made it even better by adding some pom-poms!
What you will need to make a Not So Mini, Mini Skirt:-
- fabric,
- elastic for the back waistband,
- pom-poms,
- basic sewing supplies,
- a sewing machine.
To create your skirt ratio, measure waist:-
- The front piece of skirt= 1/2 width of waist measurement by length desired (don’t forget to include seam allowances),
- The back piece of skirt= 3/4 waist measurement by length desired (don’t forget to include seam allowances),
- Just so you can visualize it more, these are Ashley’s daughter’s ratios – Waist=19 inches. Front piece = 10½” by length (she added one inch to the width for seam allowances- that is why it is 10½” instead of 9½”). Back Piece = 15¼” by length (she added one inch for seam allowances).
