Lip Purse FREE sewing pattern and tutorial
|This is the Lip Purse FREE sewing pattern and tutorial from the awesome designer Sew Much Ado.
Bag sewing is one of the designer’s favorite things to do. She says bags are so fun to make, and she loves the way they come together in (at least theory), perfect symmetry.
With the perfect fabric, the idea popped into the designer’s mind to make a lip purse. As she says – what could be cuter than lip fabric on a lip-shaped purse?! And if you get enough fabric why not make a matching dress as well.
The lip purse is actually designed for 2 to 10ish-year-olds. The designer included a tied strap which made a perfect fit for her 4-year-old daughter. Untied, it should be a great fit for an 8 to 10-year-old.
The designer wanted the purse to have a clean finish on both the inside and out, so it’s fully lined and there’s no need to bias tape to finish any seam allowances.
As the designer said this little bag might be her new go-to gift for birthday parties. Fill it with some cute lip glosses and other tiny toys and it will be a hit!
What is needed to make a Lip Purse:-
- Fabric = 1/4 yard of main and 1/4 yard of lining,
- One non-separating zipper 8″ or longer,
- Fusible interfacing – the designer likes to use fusible fleece to give the purse extra body, but you can use regular fusible interfacing if you’d prefer,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
You should print the pattern pieces at 100% (no scaling), and assemble the pages together.
