Kids Swim Shorts sewing patterns (size 0-3mths to 14yrs)
This is a Kids Swim Shorts sewing pattern that is available in sizes 0-3 months to 14 years.
These relaxed fit kids drawstring trunks can be made in a shorter or longer length. The shorter length will be a few inches above the knees while the longer length will hit right at the knees. The shorts have a medium rise, meaning they will be about 1.5″ below the child’s navel.
The designer, 5 Out Of 4 Patterns, has included various options for the shorts besides the two lengths. You can add a built-in mesh liner, optional mesh pockets, and an optional cargo pocket.
This pattern requires woven microfibre boardshort fabric for the shorts and a mesh with at least 75/25% 4-way stretch for the liner.
The Kids Swim Shorts sewing patterns come in sizes 0-3 months to 14 years. The sizes are as follows:-

Your downloaded pdf will include a professionally drawn pattern with trimless pages (now with diamond corner markers) and layers as well as a tutorial with professional drawings. There are 8.5″ by 11″, A4 (typically outside of the US), and A0 formats included for the pattern pieces. Please remember to NOT use the A4 pattern unless you are located outside of the US and own an A4 printer and A4 paper. The A0 pattern is for large format printing.
The separate tutorial download includes hyperlinks to help you navigate to whichever options you’re interested in doing. It also includes professionally drawn images for each tutorial step as well as pictures for steps that might be a little tricky. The designer takes great pains to make the tutorial as clear as possible! They’ve even included links to their YouTube channel, where you can find video tutorials on certain steps.
