Girl Skirt with Strap sewing pattern (9/12mths to 10yrs)
|This is the Girl Skirt with Strap pdf sewing pattern from the designer Shaka-Laka Sewing Patterns.
The designer also refers to this pattern as her Lilly Skirt.
Skirt features:
- There are instructions to make it with or without a lining,
- Two pockets,
- Removable straps,
- Elastic on the waist.
This classic gathered skirt features a lovely ruffle at the top edge of the waist elastic together with patch pockets and the straps are removable. The exposed buttons make it look really cute. As your girl grows, you can lose the straps on the skirt for a lower waist so that the skirt fits her for a longer period of time.
It’s a quick and relatively easy sewing project that can be made with or without lining.
The designer recommends for the fabrics you should choose cotton or linen blends for the summer, and corduroy and wools for the winter.
The designer rates her project as perfect for woven fabrics and is suitable for an advanced beginner sewer.
The pattern comes in TWELVE sizes as follows:
- 9-12 months,
- 12-18 months,
- 18-24 months,

The pdf sewing pattern includes a step-by-step instructions file (English) with more than 50 color photos of the process. It’s a layered pdf where you print only the size you need. There’s a full-size pattern sheet, and there are pieces for the skirt, straps, and pocket. The skirt has rectangular measurements in case you don’t want to print all the pieces. Body size and finished garment measurements chart is included.
There’s a print-at-home file (US Letter size or A4 – easy to assemble), copy-shop ready files (A0/plotter files/large format), and an optimized projector file. No serger is required, seam allowances are included, and cutting layouts are 44” and 60” (150cm and 110cm) wide. There are imperial or metric instructions (inches or centimeters).
