If you may have some of this fabric at home, or you’ve seen it at your favorite store, then hurry up and get some, because it’s time to make a fairytale Baby One Piece.
This Baby One Piece, with back snaps, is super easy to dress and undress, which is a great feature, especially for new babies when you are being careful to not pull something over their head. So this one-piece is very practical but it is also easy to sew as well. You’ll want to make a bunch of them as we are sure you will be happy with the end result!
This Baby One Piece sewing pattern comes in a number of sizes from Preemie to 3T. And to complete this lovely project you will need to be a confident beginner sewer.
What you will need to make a Baby One Piece:-
For the main fabric, you should use Knit fabric – medium weight cotton/lycra jersey knit. You will need 0.5 yards for sizes Preemie and NB, 0.75 yards for sizes 0-3M to 12-18M, and 1 yard for sizes 18-24M and 2-3T.
Knit fabric for neckband and cuffs: a stretchy jersey knit works for this, lightweight rib knit will as well. You will need 0.25 yards for all sizes.
8 sets of snaps – size 14 (aka 5/16″ or 8mm).
Overlock machine / Serger– If you don’t own one, you can use a small zig-zag stitch in place of the serged seam.
