Rabbit Girls Skirt FREE sewing pattern
|This is the Rabbit Girls Skirt FREE pdf sewing pattern from the designer Treasurie.
The Rabbit skirt is a simple and fast-to-make girl’s skirt with an elastic waistband and optional rabbit applique. It is absolutely free so you can try one of the designer’s patterns and see how easy they are to follow.
The pattern comes with three sizes of rabbits so you can mix and match to create your own original skirt. You can also use this pattern as a base and make plain skirts or add decorations like ric rac or pom pom trim.
Skirts are so versatile! Dress them up, dress them down, and wear them with tights on chilly days or over a swimming costume as you rush out to the beach.
Elasticated skirts are perfect for all sorts of waist sizes and girls can dress themselves as they pull on or pull off the skirt. Now add the gorgeous rabbit applique and you have a really cute little motif to decorate the skirt. Girls will just love this skirt to the moon and back.
It’s the perfect project for beginners and those of you new to PDF sewing patterns. It’s one of those easy starter projects!
Note about the applique – the designer has used three rabbits but you can mix and match the sizes and the numbers of rabbits you use to create a unique piece. Your pattern includes four sizes of rabbits.
This sewing pattern is multi-sized and comes in children’s sizes 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 (to fit approximately ages 1 to 8). If you are unsure which size to make, please use the designer’s sizing chart. She has just put the hip size since the waist can easily be adjusted with the elastic lengths.
Make this free girl’s skirt pattern from light to medium-weight, non-stretch washable fabrics. Cotton or cotton blends will work best.
What’s needed to make a Rabbit Girls Skirt:
- 3/8 yards ( 0.35 meters) to 5/8 yards (0.6 meters) of fabric depending on the size of the dress chosen. The fabric requirements provided are for 44-inch (112 cm) wide fabric,
- Double-sided fusible interfacing for the applique rabbits,
- ¾ inch (2c m) wide elastic for the waist. Measure your little girl’s waist and cut the elastic one inch larger. For example for a 22-inch (56 cm) waist cut the elastic 23 inches (58.5 cm). If you can’t measure your little girl then use the designer’s cutting guide,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
All seam allowances are ½ inch (12mm) and the seam allowances are included in the pattern.
The pattern pieces print on 8.5” by 11” (letter) or A4 paper. You can check your pattern has been printed in the correct size by measuring the 2-inch (5 cm) test square.
